Getting involved in TABPHE

Standing Committees: 

If you are interested in becoming more involved with TABPHE, think about serving on a committee!  Your expertise and experience is important to our organization.

Below is a list of our current committees.  If you are interested in serving on a committee, contact the committee chair and inform them of your interest.

Governance generally responsible for reviewing the governance structures and practices of the organization and reporting its findings and recommendations to the board.

Public Relations Coordinates and promotes positive communication between the association and other entities; This includes but is not limited to, social media platforms and our website.

Volunteering for the 2024 Conference in Frisco, TX

TABPHE's 51st Annual State Conference will be held in Frisco, TX on February 11 - February 14, 2024. If you are interested in volunteering your services for this event, contact Conference Chairs: Tina Butler (tybutler43@gmail.com) or Dr. Shannon Solis (shsolis@pvamu.edu) or Dr. Barbara Knotts (bknotts@alamo.edu) or Adrian Jackson (ajackson202@alamo.edu).

Becoming a Board of Director

Every even year (2022, 2024, 2026...), TABPHE's Board of Directors are nominated and elected. 

Responsibilities:  

  • Manage the affairs of the Association

  • Serve as core individuals for committee and task force assignments who represent the membership
  • Provide a broader perspective on the day to day management of the association and board activities
  • Attend four (4) face-to-face meetings per year
  • Serve for a full two years after election
Qualifications:
  • must have been active with the Association for at least two (2) years 
  • Receive the support of your Local Chapter if such a chapter exists AND attend TABPHE’s Business Meeting and Election (during the conference).

Becoming an Elected Officer

Elected Officers (President Elect, Vice President of Membership, Vice President of Programs, Vice President of Public Relations, Treasurer, and Secretary) are nominated and elected every odd year (2021, 2023, 2025...) 

Core Responsibilities:

  • See constitution for details on each position.
  • Attend four (4) face-to-face meetings per year.
  • Serve two years after election
Qualifications:
  • must have been active with the Association for at least two (2) years 
  • Receive the support of your Local Chapter if such a chapter exists AND attend TABPHE’s Business Meeting and Election (during the conference).
