Position Summary:

Holds direct management authority and accountability to execute policies and operational initiatives for a department, group of departments, or functional area. Position provides leadership and management of Program Operations for System Financial Aid. Oversees functions related to the overall operations of financial aid programs and processes. Supervises and evaluates staff; prepares system and local reports adhering to state, federal, system, and local guidelines; maintains focus on quality and convenience to the colleges, students and clients.

Job Functions:

Manages and directs the daily operations of System Financial Aid and implement Lone Star College’s (LSC) policies and procedures to ensure the accurate, timely and ethical awarding and processing of Title IV program funds according to federal and/or state regulations

Hires, trains, supervises, and evaluates both full-time and part-time advisors and support staff

Administers all federal, state and institutional financial aid programs including the review of these programs through federal, state, and institutional audits

Assists in the preparation of reports for the U.S. Department of Education and the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board as required

Assists the Executive and Associate System Directors in developing communication pertinent to LSC’s financial aid programs through the design of calendars, flyers, posters, brochures, and articles

Oversees and ensures accurate completion of verification and documentation of students’ status

Tracks the allocation of campus-based financial aid funds

Oversees the processing of new and continuing student loan and grant recipients

Supervises and monitors the maintenance of the document scanning system (OnBase) within the office (Verification worksheets, Income tax returns, etc.) as required

Collaborates with other System Campus Solutions groups to maintain and promote efficiency in the overall delivery of student services

Conducts personnel evaluations and assists staff members in planning professional and developmental experiences

Manages budget development through program, staffing and needs assessment

Serves on state, college and district committees as required

Serves as a community resource person and represents the college to outside groups as requested

Responsible for other reasonable, related duties as assigned

Salary:

$84,502

Required:

Bachelor’s degree or higher

At least 5 to 7 years of leadership experience in higher education

Position Summary:

Responsible for editing, researching and writing for a wide variety of internal and external communication channels including, but not limited to, media releases, press advisories, marketing collateral materials, and digital media. Develops and implements communication programs in support of LSC and campus goals and initiatives and takes part in daily implementation and project activities as needed. Fully responsible for marketing and communications, related budget planning, and resource allocation for area. Serves as a resource to colleagues on workforce and CTE programs, labor market information, and program requirements as related to military and military-affiliated student populations.

Job Functions:

Plans, develops, implements, and manages a comprehensive plan to include marketing, advertising, web and e-marketing communications for assigned college (including budgeting strategies); responsible for researching, writing, and editing for a wide variety of internal and external communication channels including, but not limited to, media releases, press advisories, marketing, collateral materials, and digital media

Assists with daily duties as needed throughout the department; may include, but is not limited to, creating a variety of publicity collateral (posters, fliers, digital media screens…et.), serving as a Photographer, drafting responses for media inquiries, and editing copy and designs for accuracy, clarity and conformity to LSC branding and style guides

May supervise employees and coordinate communications-related functions, including but not limited to e-marketing, web content, electronic notification systems, social networking and campus-wide communications; liaison between the creative services team and internal/external customers as needed

Develops and maintains standards for marketing and communications functions, ensuring adherence to LSC branding standards and guidelines

Responsible for advising various college constituents on marketing- and communications-related matters, including planning and implementation of marketing for instructional and non-instructional programs

Manages mechanisms to gather feedback from students, employees and the community on college effectiveness and services

Serves as College Administrator for Web Content Management System, including editor authorizations, editor and web content training, and project management

Represents the college at the LSC Public Information Council and on various college and community groups

Serves as advisor to college Administration on marketing and communications functions

Some positions may assist with special events that may occasionally be held on night or weekends

Responsible for other reasonable related duties as assigned

Position Summary:

Serves as resource to internal clients in relation to Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS). Administers, maintains and audits Human Resources computer system for Lone Star College System. Audits data to ensure data integrity, creates and runs custom queries and reports, and compiles various reports as needed.

Job Functions:

Provides general advice, guidance, and information to end users with regard to querying, reporting, and maintenance a variety of HCM information. Serves as resource to leadership and end users for creating custom queries, running queries, and creating reports; develops and distributes standard reports for recurring information requests; creates ad hoc queries and reports for one-time requests

Troubleshoots and resolves basic HR system issues with regard to reporting, querying, data integrity/maintenance; refers more complex issues to the Professional Analyst II of HRIS or to the Office of Technology Services (OTS) as needed

Creates queries and reports for HR information requests; assists with the creation of federal and state reporting requests such as IPEDS (Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System), CAFR (Comprehensive Annual Financial Report), LAR (Legislative Appropriation Request), etc

Assists with resolution of position management and budget issues related to HR and annual budget preparation

Corrects data entry errors; facilitates changes to or makes updates to HCM tables

May help ensure data integrity within HCM by performing or assisting with a variety of data audit functions

Assists with the rollout of Cost of Living adjustments, Compensation Plan updates, and other projects and mass updates as needed

Position Summary:

Supports other staff by performing task oriented duties while providing clerical, analytical, administrative, and operational support under general supervision.
