Message from the State President
Since 1973, the Texas Association of Black Personnel in Higher Education has been a dynamic organization which provides a statewide vehicle for a diverse, multicultural workforce to learn, share, direct, lead and influence higher education in Texas. As rich as the organization is in resources, it is also rich in history. The founders of this great organization had a vision to “formally organize an association to promote, maintain and assure the development and growth of African Americans in the educational process.”
As your State President, it is my vision to continue the legacy of our founders and to continue to “raise the bar” for us personally and professionally in order to improve higher education for African Americans in the state. TABPHE has updated its Strategic Plan to guide us in the fulfillment of our mission. During my tenure, I will focus on:
